How I Help
Practical advice and support for specific international business situations, challenges and decisions.
One-off sessions or ongoing support, depending on what you need.
A supplier relationship has stalled. A customer has gone quiet. A negotiation isn't moving forward. An important meeting is approaching. Something happened in a discussion that you don't quite understand.
Sometimes you simply need an experienced outside perspective to help you understand what may be happening, consider your options and decide what to do next.
How I Can Help
Every conversation starts with your situation.
You may be preparing for something important, trying to resolve an existing problem or simply want a second opinion before deciding how to proceed.
Together, we can explore practical questions such as:
-
What is actually happening here?
-
Why might people be responding this way?
-
What might they be expecting from me?
-
What am I perhaps not seeing?
-
What options do I have?
-
What should I do next?
The objective is greater clarity, a different perspective where useful, and practical options you can apply to the situation.
Situations Where I Can Help
You might be:
Preparing for an important negotiation or commercial discussion
Preparing for a high-stakes international meeting
Building a relationship with a new customer, supplier or business partner
Trying to understand why a project or relationship has stalled
Receiving mixed or unclear signals from an overseas organisation
Dealing with different expectations between international teams
Preparing for a difficult conversation
Making an important decision involving an international business relationship
Practical International Business Experience
My advice is based on more than 30 years of hands-on international business experience across over 50 countries, including senior international roles and running my own business across multiple markets.
Culture can be part of understanding an international business situation, but it is rarely the whole story. Organisational structures, commercial priorities, hierarchy, relationships, communication, personalities and different expectations can all influence what is happening.
The focus is on understanding the situation in front of us rather than applying a generic cultural model.
Confidentiality
Advisory work can involve live commercial discussions, confidential projects and sensitive business relationships.
Everything discussed remains strictly confidential, and I am happy to work under a Non-Disclosure Agreement where required.
Getting Started
The first step is a short, free conversation.
You can explain the situation and what you are trying to achieve, and we can discuss whether I can provide the right support. There is no obligation to proceed.
